Morning All
Hope everyone is cool and groovy
I've been having some trouble with my rear hub for a while now where by it keeps developing play in the axle. When it first happened, about 3 months from the wheel being built by Merlin, I downloaded the service guide from Park Tools, stripped and rebuilt the hub and evrything was fine. About a month after that it had developed play again so I serviced it again
Again it developed play so this time I took it to my LBS who serviced the hub for me however after a blast round Bedgebury and a 20 mile trail loop yesterday the play is back once again
I've taken the bike back to my LBS who have said they will re service the hub for me however Im not hugely into having to have the hub serviced every couple of rides. Would it appear that my hub is knackered as I've never had this trouble before?
The wheels were built by Merlin in march and are Shimano XT M756 hubs on Mavic XM 719 rims.
Cheers guys

sounds like the lock nuts are not being correctly tightened.
this should not be happening."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

As a humble home mechanic its entirely possible that I didnt tighten them as much as I should have done however I would expect qualified mech at a shop to do so. I'll see what happens once I've picked her back up and gone for a ride.0
