I do hope no one got stuck in an almighty puddle and flooded their engine...

  • I flooded my shoes...

They're sandals, but they're sort of banana shaped, so water pools under your feet... lovely black london road water...

Cycling in the rain is fun. :D

    Stunning morning here in Cornwal.
Hardly any wind so the river is like a mirror and super sunny. Bit chilly though.
Best ride in weeks this morning!

I had fruit and fibre and a banana today... but they're SPDs! And they prevent my feet getting hot in the summer... I like them.

Was there supposed to be rain this morning? Nothing in Bristol yet.

Crikey, they are ugly. A veritable triumph of function over form. I think I'll live with hot feet.
  • They sure are ugly!

But they're comfy, and I couldn't find a pair of SPD sandals which actually look nice, so I settled for these!

Yes, indeed, function over form. They attach me to the bike. That's why I like them!!

And you can see my pwitty pedicured toes!!! :D:D
  • They are hurting my eyes.

it was all skirts and heels - whatever I wore to work basically!

but now I like to be attached to the bike... and skirts are not really an option unless I wear shorts underneath!

Dude, just remember LiT can snap your femur between thumb and forefinger she is that hard. Never forget the gear inches she pummels on a daily basis!

    BAD SHOES.

It was a fun wet ride, wasn't it? i am happy that i didn't put my overshoes into storage...
point your handlebars towards the heavens and sweat like you're in hell
  • <mutter> <grumble> bloody cycle express late delivery <mutter> <grumble>

My muguards, waterproofs and overshoes all sat at the shop and me carrying what amounted to most of the bridlepath on me and the bike by the time I got to the end of it...

Mind you - that was my first full commute in the wet and I really enjoyed it!

I had to hose the bike down, mow the grass on the shoes, but I was fine at the end of it.

I feel like I'm faster in the wet, I like to believe that my theory of reduced friction drag between the tyres and the road might have something to do with it but it's probably bunk.

...well I don't know LiT, I have always been told, less friction and more oxygen in the air when it's wet.

  • Very interesting!

Maybe I'm not full of baloney after all... Either way it seems faster, anyone else get that?
