on commuting today on my new bike..
i found it was very rainy etc..
I only ride on roads but i have no mudguards on my bike, will this matter?
can it in any way damage the bike?
also could anyone link me to a decent online shop for cycling gear, shorts, tops etc.
Thanks

If you like spraying dirty water over yourself / other people / your bike - then don't use mudguards.
Your bike won't be damaged as such, some parts may wear out sooner.0 -
With regards to mudguards I think johnnyc71 is about right. Online shops for cycling gear:

+1 for wiggle and crc.
i can't image spraying watery muck all over the chain and mech is doing them any long-term favours. even raceblades will help a bit.
personally i can stand being wet on most of me apart from my feet. cycling with cold wet toes is horrible, and so is slipping on sopping shoes for the retun journey home!0
