Rear Fog light

I run a 12v front light from a 7.2a/h battery that I keep in my rack bag.

What do you reckon on running a 12v car type rear fog light on my rear rack as a rear light ?

Most car accessory shops sell them for about £15 or so, it'd be pretty bright , I think they are 21watts !

I would just use a Smart 1/2 watt superflash (or two of them?) - it is a 1/2 watt LED so it is much brighter than a conventional incandescent bulb, and much more power efficient. I don't know how it would compare to what you suggest, but it is almost blindingly bright when following a bike so equipped. They cost about £10 and the 2 AAA batteries will last about 40 hours.

    I wouldn't.

Its dazzling and annoying on the back of a car when people have them on when not needed.

I would imagine it may cause more problems than it would solve TBH

As above, LED bike lights are very bright and would be far more power efficient.

    Cheers
