Touring Bike hire in the UK

I've had an e-mail from a guy in Belgium asking if there are bike rental places in the UK that rent out touring bikes with racks and panniers, preferably in a reasonable distance from Hull.
Anyone know of any places?

Many thanks for that link Tim. One of the few that mentions racks and panniers, however the site doesn't mention what type of bike they hire. I'll pass the link on to Pieter in Belgium.0

I would phone the cycle shops in hull and halfords in hull and ask or persuade them. It would be more convenient surely to get it in hull. After all , if you were paying ,say, 100gbp for a 2 week hire I think they would easily buy on ewholesale then sell it second hand fo r a profitRaleigh Eclipse, , Dahon Jetstream XP, Raleigh Banana, Dawes super galaxy, Raleigh Clubman

Yeah but conventional bike shops are too anxious about theft + damage to even think about the idea.0 -
well, I can believe you are right, but look at this:
http://www.mailordercycles.co.uk/produc ... 854&z=8256
And it is a very seviceable touring bike , if a little heavy..A dutchman will have ridden a lot worse. The retail price here is 155gbp, so they must get it for 100gbp. If they hired it out for a fortnight and got it back in terrible nick they would still be able to sell it on, or they could keep the deposit at worst. The borrower would only stand to lose 160gbp evn if the retailer was to stick him for the full retail new price.
And don't say it's a rubbish bike because we have got 2 of them and I'll be upset. Never insult a man's bike. They all do something well.
