Demo / Test Bikes - Where and How ? (Midlands)

Considering a big purchase but I want to test first , I live in derby and want to try out the latest trek fuel 8 or 9 & specialized enduro.

Does anyone know where i can test these (preferably for free) ?

and also if there is anything else i should test ? (<£2K full sus All Mountain, trail bike)

Your best bet is the Specialized concept store, as they will have everything you could think of. The Chester one has a great selection and they have a 'bike factory' store next door, but no idea what the brum one is like.
