Hello everyone I am new to mountain biking and this may sound silly, but can anyone tell me what snake stays are as I have just found out an oldish mouuntain bike I have recovered from the depths of my garage has :?:

Curved and shaped stays that clear your cranks (and ankles!) as you pedal. Also supposed to add a little flex to make things more comfy.
