3yr Old Marin Wolf Ridge - Handles 'Funny'

Had this bike now for three and a half years, but it is only this year that I have seriously out some miles in.
I've started riding some 'Enduros' etc, and mainly ride XC, man made trails in Scotland, Lakes n Wales and 'natural' trails around the Lakes.
Having rode a couple fo other bikes recently, I have noticed that mine does not handle the best, and I find it hard to describe what the actual 'problem' is.
It's probably the geometry, and I seem to recall reading a review back in 05 saying that the Wolf Ridge (and maybe the other bikes such as the Attack Trail) handle a little 'odd'.
I think it manifests itself in the steering feeling, sometimes, in tight situations, it just seems to do its own thing.
So my question is, anyone any experience of this bike (2005 model) and can advise on a tweak or mod to improve the handling?
