Holdsworth 531cs frame found on a pile of rubble a couple of months ago is ready for its first club ride tomorrow... built up with spare odds and ends from the shed and hasn't cost a penny, just a few hours messing about with bits of oily metal.
So what's the best bike you have rescued from the dump or hedge?
To date I have rescued;
1940's New Hudson racer...... complete and ridable,
Brand new Galaxy with bent forks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
531c Mercian
very ancient Freddy Grubb tandem
and this Holdsworth....

None to date but I still intend to see if my dad's old 531 Scot can be salvaged.
Not sure when I'll get around to it. :roll:0 -
Vitus 979 frame dumped in a garage, rescued circa 1990. Still have it and still use it (even if I am probably a bit too heavy for it these days)I can afford to talk softly!....................I carry a big stick!0

Lagavulin.............. that's a classic machine, I would get it tidied up and road worthy for next summer. There is something special about old nicely made steel bikes.
I did 70 miles on the Holdsworth today round the hilly pot holey Herefordshire lanes and it was a pleasure even with the rain running down my neckClub rides are for sheep0
