unsure what size

hi well im new to all this but finding myself wanting to really get stuck into trails and maybe a small amount of jumping, im looking at 2 bikes the gt avalnche 1.0 and the kona cinder cone im looking to aspend between 4 and 5 hundred.
heres the bit where im stuck, im about 6ft1 and im stuck on what size frame would suit me best, i want the bike to be comfy to chuck around but not be too uncomfy to ride in everyday situations can anyone help me on this?

cheers for that mate ill have to find somewhere close enough to go try a few, i have a friend who works in a shop called george dugmores (anyone from the midlands may know it) and they offered me a diamondback cant remember which model off the top of my head but it had hydro brakes lockout forks and my mate assured me it was the one to go for over the other diamondback models.
best get out their a try a few anyway see what i like

It's the best way, try a few out. Set a basic spec that you want, see what feels best!
