    Not for me, but I think a good move from the big S. XTR has always been about the best kit, but other brands have gone all out (at cost though) to go lighter. So this will see them compete more with those brands. I always wondered when we were going to see a XTR+ and here it is!
  • if xtr is professional race componentry, I don't understand why these feats are as standard. From a commerciality point of view, I recon it would make more sense to have a BIG void between xt and xtr to sustain the brand of xtr. Keep it as the unrivaled leet of MTB-dom. I mean even SRAM xo has carby bits which to my knowlege weren't an aftermarket gimic...

    No, but XO costs double what XTR does. Yet XTR works just as well. This is for those who really must have the absolute lightest kit. It gives the rider a bit of flexibilty - great function, and great function with slightly less weight if you are willing to pay.
