Apologies to those who may have received something similar to this via email already...
Wiith five weeks to go we have just 95 of the original 1,000 places left - the same as last year at this stage. As in 2007, it looks likely that the Epic will sell out in advance, but we will not be operating a waiting or reserve list this time round or accepting entries on the day - on-line entry and an up to date rider list can be found here: http://cyclosportives.co.uk/epicHome.htm
The big news is that we are being sponsored by Viner Bikes of Italy (http://www.vinerbicycles.com/) this year, and they will be offering a free carbon frameset to one lucky finisher - like at the Devil Ride, the winner will be drawn from a hat as soon as we have a final list of finishers.
Route planning for the Autumn Epic is all but over - unless we hear of any last minute road works that is. The first part of the route is all new for 2008, delivering a slightly longer ride than in 2007 (by around 1 mile), but with very slightly less climbing - more on that when the route cards are published!
Rider packs are being printed in the next couple of weeks and will be posted out a couple of weeks before the event (late enough to catch any last minute route changes etc).
See you in the Marches - Phil.
