Specialized FSR XC Comp headset

Hello,
Could anyone tell me if specialized use their own brand headset on the Specialized FSR XC Comp 2008.
The reason I ask is because I bought the bike (new) a few months ago but the headset looks like it's been replaced. There's a small dent in the fork where it looks like someones hammered off the bottom cup. Also the bearing seals are far to big and do no good at all.
It's a Cane Creek headset - should it be a Specialized?

I have an 07 FSR XC comp and it's a Specialized headset as standardSpecialized Enduro SL Pro Carbon
Specialized Stumpy Evo Carbon
Canyon Aeroad Disc Di2
Specialized FSRxc - XC Race Bike0 -
I have a 2008 Stumpy FSR Comp and that has a Crane Creek headset as standard.
Not much detail listed on the Specialized web site for the XC just has:
1 1/8" threadless, black steel cups, loose ball bearings w/ seals

Other option is call in a shop that sells the same bike and see what is fitted , but if they use Crane on Stumpy they may do the same on the XC.0
