I have just changed my tyres and after i put the rear wheel back on the back brake has stopped gripping and it makes hell of a squealing noise just before the bike stops eventually. I have tried adjusting the caliper and nothing seems to make any difference. there is still a bit left on the pads before they reach 1mm. The brakes are Avid Jucy 3.

    what else did you do?

    what brakes?
have you really made sure the wheel is seated the same?

did you go and use it before playing with the calliper? as it would have settled down as you will have just knoked the pads back a bit on removing and fitting the wheel.

Are you sure the disk is between the pads?
  • The brakes are Avid Jucy 3's.
I've been out on the bike 3 times and had no problem.
I've tried removing the wheel and replacing and still the same.
