Hi Everyone,

I am going to buy my first mountain bike and I am bit confused which I'll go for so I need help from you guys.

I am looking fairly lightweight bike, full suspension and has front/rear disc break for a budget of up to £300

So I found these two bikes Coyote MTS and Coyote Jake (they may are not branded bikes but the spec looks fine), could you please advice which one you like more:

Thanks for your help guys

Going to be very honest, and to the point: both are junk! Very heavy, poor parts, bad performance.

Have a read of the What Bike thread, and especially the beginners guide on the last page which explains good things to look for. I'd recommend buying from a local dealer so you can try some out for size, and have them build it, plus a free service - useful stuff for a beginner.

You are really going to struggle to find a full suspension bike at this price that doesnt behave like a pogo stick. The best is the Decathlon Rockrider 6.3

You might get 2 out of three of those requirements for that budget, but I'd be surprised. You might be best looking for secondhand if you have to have full suspension.

i'd have to say that your money will go a LOT further buying a hardtail with your budget.

If you could stretch to £350 you could look at the Decathlon Rockrider 6.3:

It was highly thought of last year at:

but it's unfortunately gone up in price.

    Thanks guys for your replies.

The reason why I want a bike for up to £250 is because is gaoing to be my first bike then after 1 or 2 years def I will buy better one. At the moment I don't want to spend too much on the first bike.

    Cheers

Looks good for the money! I'd see what your local shops have though.

I bought the coyote mts off ebay, got it for £125. had it a few weeks went up to glentress, the forks packed in after once down the red route  , rear brake seized a few weeks later, then the gears went after that  got fed up and got a new bike from my local shop.

The only good was that i got it cheap on ebay
