A "Club run" tandem for me and my 6 yr old?

My cycling-mad 6 yr daughter is always begging me to take her on the sunday club run. I was wondering if anyone knew of a road tandem with a "child" stoker?

SJSC sells these IIRC, or you might be able to get a kit that is basically a chainset and BB that mounts onto the seattube of the stoker and connects to one of the chainrings of the chainset. More likley to be a tourer rather than full on roadie.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
  • My kids (both boys) are 8 1/2 and just 6 and also bike mad. We went for the Orbit Libra (from JD Cycles in Ilkey - fantastic service, also bought two kids Scott bikes from them - order by phone, in Woking the following day). Both are able to stoke, although the 6 year only just.

Frequent use as the local taxi for Cubs, shopping, etc, etc, etc and for some longer runs.

Excellent introduction to cycling on the road as well as very practical, and streets ahead of a tag-along.

Great thing is that it also fits my wife so it won't be obsolete quickly.

It's not a road bike, though. Plan is to have one of these made for the wife and I when the kids grow up a bit.
