Hi guys

Go easy as I'm a newbie but I have a couple of questions

I'm after a computer cycle and seat post bag, here are my requirements, maybe you can link me to your choices???

£30 or under
Small but have a large LCD display so I can see a few things at once i.e. time, miles ect. I don't wanna have to keep pushing buttons to see the basics.
Needs to have time, speed, average speed, odometer....mpg (just kidding on that one)

optional requirements:

Wired or wireless, is it worth getting a wireless, do they have any advantages or more trouble than their worth?

Back light would be nice but not essential.

I'm also after a seat post/saddle bag, needs to be as small as possible I only need to fit in a phone/wallet/key. Been looking at some topeak micro packs,

Do I get a quick fit or Velcro strap type? it's gonna have some valuables in it so need to be secure an not fall off!

Thats all I can think of atm, just got a GT aggressor XC2 an already looking at £1k plus bikes, think I'm getting the bug! Thing I've noticed is that for any component there are sooo many diff manufactures an they each have tons of models! Out of interest is a full suspension bike a good all rounder? I will be doing a tiny bit of road riding, but mostly in woods i.e parks. something that can take some abuse. lol

Nice one, looks like it has everything I need, I presume this is a good brand too?...as I'm secretly a bit of a snob. lol

    Or this one

Only displays speed plus one other piece of data at a time (does everything you asked for) but the neat thing is there are no buttons, you just tap the bottom of the unit, easy even with really big gloves on.
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

    I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
    Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result

if your getting the bug might be worth just getting a backpack/hydration pack. i`ve got a strada, well did have, lost it on the cliffs at weekend, arse. gonna get another though. one of my better buys just make sure you clip it in like i didnt!!

  • Thanks guys

That Cateye Strada looks quite trick but I think the other one does what I need and within my budget.

I've gotta backpack already, but I'll be getting a Kriega one soon as that will be good for the motorbike too :)

Think i'll be going for this seat pack - That should be secure enough right?

  • I've got seatpack 3rd size up, very hardwearing, excellent quickrelease & also "velcroes" onto seatpost unlike the micro. Also has facility for attaching rear lamp, not sure if micro has.

  • Ah thanks for that justreading

I might go for the small then as the extra velcro strap would give less chance of it falling off.
