which fixed gear for a road/towpath commute?

having made my mind up to sell my tricross comp and get a fixed gear for my 32 mile round commute, i am now need to decide which one is suitable for my route in, which consists of road, towpath and some unmade towpath ie mud,puddles and potholes. The general opinion I can find is the the On One would be the best bet, although the Pearson looks great value as well. Any suggestions?
