Hi

I have got Rockshox Dart 2 forks on my bike. However, the lockout does not seem to make a great deal of difference when it is on. Is this likely to be because it is a cheap fork and it isn't realistically going to work well anyway, or does it sound like it is broken?

BTW I am a newbie so don't really know what to expect from the lockout function anyway.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

  • i have the same forks on my bike, the lockout works pretty well, i get about 10mm compression with the lockout on, then it only gives more if you hit a big bump
without the lockout on it only gives about 80mmish compression, not the 100mm its supposed to have, still it does the job for me
might be worth taking it back to where you got it from or take it to a LBS for them to have a look mate

Thanks, sounds like it is broken then. Will take back to the shop and see how I get on ..
  • yeah I had a problem with the Dart 2s (see when is enough enough thread).. and the bike shop replaced pretty much everything on them but the lockout refused to maintain pressure.. maybe there's a bad batch around..

same here with my dart2. went back to lbs, who fixed it! now I get 10mm approx travel when locked. looking to upgrade soon though, bike would be light without the dart bolted on!

Went to the shop and as you all have implied, they said there have been a lot of problems with the Dart 2's not working properly

They are sending them to the distributor to be fixed/replaced
  • Good luck! I bought my bike off the internet and it took 2 months to get sorted.. got a free upgrade in the end..
