Squealing disc brakes

My disc brakes squeal like a banshee under hard braking. Anyone got an idea of anything I can do to stop it?
Thanks.
Thanks.

you may find that removing the pads and disc and lightly sadnign the glazing off them will help, certainly reduced mine somewhat! only squeels under repeated hard breaking from speed now (when heating up a lot!)Timmo.

I don't know about squealing under braking, but to reduce squeaking at other times, CAREFULLY apply lubricant to the disc's mounting bolts & where it contacts with the hub, ensuring that none gets on the rotor. It's a good idea to clean the disc brake track with alcohol afterwards just in case... with dust + severe braking this happens quite bit where I am.0

If you do lube the mounting bolts, use GT-85 - it doesn't contaminate the pads or rotor. The rotor not being totally square on the hub mount could cause squealing, also could be clearance of the pads to the rotor not being quite right. The simplest is just water (especially) or general crap, good clean with muc-off or other disc cleaner and wipe off with clean cloth, any oil on your cloth can still ruin pads and rotor.0

don't listen to him, its a lubricant, so its going to contaminate the pads. probably the most silly thing i've seen so far. [rant] there have been thousands of people saying their brakes squeal, get used to it, it happens, its normal. if you want to sort it out use the search function [rant/]Best quote ever (pinkbike): "i've heard that Hill pees, deffecates, vomits and masturbates before each race to keep the weight down"0
