Buying a seat post

When buying a seat post for a bike (SCR 3 large size frame) what size am I looking for.

Will it fit? How will I know it will fit? Should I just measure the diameter of my current seat post?

    That'll be too wide, the SCR3 takes a 27.2mm post.

    Seatposts normally have their diameter (e.g. 27.2mm or 31.6mm) embossed on them. Try sliding out your existing one and carefully read all the markings/numbers on it. If it says 27.2mm you'll have to get another one of that size. 31.6mm will be too wide.
