RAM U-bolt on Carbon bars is safe?
I use a Garmin 60Csx to guide me around the country roads, and it's well-known that the bike mount that comes with it is pretty rubbish to say the least. After the unit dropped off the bike down several hills I've replaced the mount with a RAM mount.
Question is, this kind of mount is a stainless steel U-Bolt and I was wondering if my planet-X carbon bars can handle the pressure from the U-bolt when mounted?

Try and pad-out the U-bolt to minimise point loading e.g. rubber pads that come with bike computer mounts and don't tighten nuts too tightly. rubber pad will stop it slipping too.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
