I have been riding my hardrock for a while now and recently upgraded the old rst fork with a set of Tora 302SL forks. The only problem is i have been over the bars more than a couple of times now partly due to my lack of trail skills but also i have noticed the forks compress almost fully when travlling downhill. I have looked around but can't seem to find if there is a way of stiffening the springs.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Mike!

well the SL could be air or coil spring.

if coil it might have a preload adjuster or you will need to change the spring, if air add air.

have a look at the left leg of the fork (when seated) what can you see?

or take pics of the top and bottom of the fork.

    have a read http://www.bikeradar.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=40029

    Thanks for the quick reply.

It's a coil fork. Travel adjustment on left post and lockout on right side, with a rebound adjustment at the bottom.

then you will be looking at a new spring as there is no way to add preload.

Cheers Nick. I take it that's a dealer job then as i can't see how to order parts from sram unless your a dealer.

Springs can be ordered direct from Fisher.

What sag are you getting on this fork?

quite a bit especially when going downhill and my weight compresses the fork leaving none to absorb the bumps and dips.

NO Sag is the % of the travel when you are on the bike in riding kit in the normal riding position.
