Hi Guys,

Have been trying for ages t get a 185mm rear bracket and have finally got one for my juicy brakes.

.... just fitted the larger 185mm rear disc and it impacts my frame (Scott Genius)!!

I assume theres nothing to be done about this and i'll have to go back to 160mm?

Cheers

Not sure how that would help if the disc rotor is hitting the seat or chain-stay. :?

as the stays are angled some times a reduction of 2.5mm in radius will do.

I machined one 165mm disc that was catching on a chainstay down to 163 and it gave clearance.

any 180mm disc will do really. you will need to change the adaptor to any rear 180mm adaptor Or have 2.5mm machined off the current one taking care that the calliper does not catch on it.

  • Hi mate I did exactly the same thing on my Reflex and it was 0.1 of a mm away from the frame. Going for a 180 is the best option. Although personally a 160 should be powerfull enough for the rear brake!
