For the bike 100mm forks are best. Whether 2nd hand is a good idea depends on your budget - how much do you have to spend? I am unsure f the headset it zero stack or not from that photo, but if you can go for a Superstar one.

The FSA Pig is a hardcore, heavy headset with open bearings. The Orbit is more suited to your riding style, lighter and has sealed bearings. I would still go for a SUperstar one though - very chap as Superstar sells direct.

a regular threadless headset is what you need for that bike, i used to have one by the way (dont tell sonic)

the orbit you have been shown is a good choice, the pig is also a decent headset, very tough but requires a bit of regular servicing as the bearings arent well sealed.

Must say, never a wrong word been spoken of a hope headset. My colleague uses 1 for DH/FR use as well as DJ - it never gets the light XC treatment! It has NEVER gone wrong!

Theyre a bit pricey (£59.99 at www.chainreactioncycles.com) but they are great performers, and will definately add a bit of british bling to your bike.

Not to mention you'll be able to lord your pricey headset over everyone elses! (Just avoid that stupid git with the MASSIVELY overpriced chris king!)

    Hope this helps!

Unless that stupid git bought it from the states, where they aren't so eye wateringly expensive ;)

The FSA Orbit should be fine though, no real need to spend more.
