so you want to take a frame that originally came with a 80mm fork and go form a lot more travel?

none of the listed forks is really suitable for that frame. Maybe the Pike wound down to min travel.

you do have a 20mm front hub?

My advice is: change frame to one that supports 130-160mm of travel (hardtail or fs - depending of your budget).
Then if you are limited with the cash, buy Tora or MX Pro.
So later when you save enough money, change front wheel with 20mm hub and then buy Pike, Domain or 55.

Pikes, but as above, the frame won't ride properly as meant for shorter travel forks.
If it's not a Yeti, it's not worth riding!

err oh dear! well my brother was riding it for years with 04 DJ 2's and they were 110mm i think and it was perfect but now its got crap 80mm dj3's on. money is no issue as i work at Evans and get everything at trade price so i cud get something better. i didnt realise it wouldnt work with longer travel!

If money are no problem I would buy a new bike form Evans like Specialized Pitch FSR Comp with Pike.

I still say stick some argyles on the front, or maybe marzocchi 4X, or some cut down 36vans (cut down to 100mm). It won't be a full on DH bike obviously but it'll be a hell of a lot more fun than it is currently, and will make a fun little play bike when you move to a FS DH bike

the DJ at 110 are fine but what you are suggesting is just going too far really.

100mm is about spot on for that frame.

  • Domain's... only because I've got them :D but... as mentioned before, the frame won't ride right and so go for something around 100mm. Sure it's already been said but there's my little bit of knowledge
