Roman Challenge (Northampton)

You are invited to join us at the annual Mountain Bike Ride near Northampton: The Roman Challenge.
This year's event is Sunday 12 October 2008, booking deadline Sunday 5 Oct.
The ride starts and finishes at Hackleton Village Hall and there's a choice of three routes to suit any rider level. We have the family route, an easy 8 miles round the forest on forest paths, or choose the Gladiator route: a challenging 30 miles on varying terrain (not very technical, but you'll need strong legs) including forest tracks, canal paths, a nature reserve, bridal ways and one or two crop fields. If 30 miles is a bit much for you, choose the Goldilocks route (22 miles) - not too hard, not too easy but just right, like Goldilocks' porridge

Entry is just £10 for adults, £4 for children. This includes the now famous buffet with savoury food and our ever popular WI handmade cakes. You are also welcome to have a hot drink when you arrive for registration before you set off.
Money raised will be going to community projects and this year we will once again be supporting the Village Hall extension.

We have been lucky with the weather for the past two years so fingers crossed for good weather again this year.

Well worth entering this event - I did it last year and am hoping to do it again this year. The feedstops on the way and the buffet at the end are worth the £10 alone
