Hey,

I recently rode a demo 2009 fuel ex 8 and was smitten with it. Managed to negotiate a good deal for cash and the bike is all but bought.

Just wondered before I part with my cash ,whether there are any risks with buying 09 bikes so early, what are the chances of any reliability issues with the frame and parts, are the bike specs likely to change before they hit all the shops, I note the Trek website has yet to update.

Obviously there's the possibility that early bikes might suffer from quality problems (I think this happened with trek rear ends last year), but the manufacturer will sort this under warranty, so not a major worry.

Regarding the spec, even if it does change if your happy with what you're getting for the price your paying - why worry - its got just as much chance of getting worse as better.

You should be fine. Most models have been pretty well tested by the time they hit the shops.

Having bought the same bike last Friday I can assure you that you won't regret it!
