I'm sure its not a license to kill! He drove off at speed after and a second later I thought angrily to myself I would have liked to have told him off. Also I overtook him at the toll bridge a minute later so there was no point in his behaviour, no clear advantage.

Sorry for the footage - havent gotten used to the atc on the helmet.

Surely thats obvious - he's an impatient arse. :?
  • So was that before or after the pinch point ?

You need to point the camera up a bit.
  • The gap seems luxurious.

The horn was unnecessary. But that's his problem, he has to live with being a tw**, every day of his life. Poor guy.

You're lucky, you only had to encounter him twice.

From what I can see if he'd been any further over he'd have been on the far side pavement... didn't look like he could give you much more room.

Maybe he was just anoyed at yet another higher than thou cyclist filming his BMW believing that the cyclist should never be overtaken unless given a minimum of 50m passing room

Sorry to rant but a lot of the video cams posted recently seem to me to be the cyclist trying to prove that they are the only angels on the road and anyone else should be banned.... and this one got my goat.

TBH today, the only recklessness i saw was from cyclists. Two jumped reds at very busy junctions, one proceeded to head the wrong way up a bus lane!

A blue van (okay not a WVM but close) gave me tonnes of space and didn't get pissed at me cycling slowly in the middle of the road, i was so surprised i nearly fell off!

Picture and quote directly from the highway code. Wonder where he got the idea the he was entitled to more than 50cm... Yes you don't normally get it, but the highway code specifies you should, perhaps not a rolly eyes moment.

I agree the guy actually passed giving loads of room, but was still being a tw*t getting all agro over it.

    I typed 50m - Metres - was being sarcastic, not 50cm.

  • Obviously has prattish tendencies if he is shouting at you, but I honestly can't see the problem. He didn't seem overly close to me, certainly compared to zillions of other cars that pass every day.

OK perhaps my wording was slightly ambiguous on the youtube page.. but I never said he drove too close - I was trying to demonstrate that if HE thought he didnt have enough space HE could have waited a few seconds.

And quite frankly if you thought I was being supercilious on what I thought was an interesting occurance then you could have demonstrated self-censorship. (please note the proper use of the roll-eyes :lol: )

I wouldnt mind to be honest. I suppose its all subjective and he'd prolly just show himself up, hehe!

Sorry, couldn't self censor this time.... yours was the straw that broke... I was just getting a little cheesed at the number of times I had seen a video post saying "look at this terrible motorist blah blah.... but got the moron on film..." only to see what is often only very marginally poor driving. Fair point on the agressive attitude.

Yes I do drive (as little as possible though) and am an IAM trained driver so certainly don't condone poor / agressive / inconsiderate driving.

To be honest, he was a prat if he did what he did, but....you had plenty of room, the sound isn't good in the video, and you might have seen him clearly but the video doesn't show that. Not a good piece of footage, might have been better for your own credibility not to post it?

Now, if it had been like that time I was in Richmond Park, doing 25mph on a downhill section, and the passenger leaned out of the window shouting and gesticulating towards the footapth next to the road with its 15mph limit (obviously on day release from the Home), before being sped off, then I would understand.

But I get occasionally artics passing me at 90kph a lot closer than that and stay unfazed.

Maybe I'm just getting to laid back....
'Twas Mulga Bill, from Eaglehawk, that caught the cycling craze....

I'm not sure I have any credibility anyway.
