Club/Racing

I have recently brought a mountain bike and have been doing off road/cross country locally and at thetford forest. I am looking to join a club and I am very keen to up my fitness and in the near future compete in races.
I would be greatfull if anyone could give me any information on joining and what I need to join as I am very keen to get in to cross country more.
I live in lowestoft(if anyone knows where that is.Near Norwich)

http://www.thetfordmtbracing.com/ this is the group which organise the races which last year was extremely well attended with all events sold out well before the race. The dates for this years winter series are

November 9th
December 7th
January 25th 09
February 22nd 09

also dont forget to cheack out th timber link in my sig if you havent all ready checked us out. Perhps even join us and help out when we have build days again

I have looked at the thetfor mtb site and does not say anything about this years winter series but I am thinking about just going for it and getting in to a race. I have e-mailed thetford mtb but no reply yet. Do i need a licence to race?

As far as I am aware you dont need a licence to race. Only the dates have been given out so far for the winter races the entry should go online some time after D2D but they have said they might bring that forward

If you hear anymore about the race dates let me know.
I may be going round the red and black on saturday not 100% yet.
I could also be interested in helping out some time.
