Macclesfield Forest
Hi,
I'm thinking about getting down to Macc Forest but have got no idea where it is in Macclesfield or where the trail is. I've seen an overhead pic showing the route but that doesn't help much really. Is the route marked out? Facilites nearby? Difficulty?
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hi
Macclesfield Forest lies to the east of Macclesfield just beyond Langley. There is parking past the Leathers Smithy pub and a car park further up by the visitor centre at Trentabank Reservor.
There is what is signed as the Forest Bridleway, this is only about 6 miles long. Signed all the way round. However there are other bridleways and byways in the area which can be combined with the forest bridleway to make longer rides. Do a search on this forum for more info. Also have a look at http://www.bikemaps.co.uk/macc_forest.htm which has photos, info and a map.0 -
That's great, thanks for your help.Pitch Pro - http://heathy.pinkbike.com/album/My-Bike

Sorry forgot to say. Technically wise there is really just one section on the Forest Bridleway known as Charity Lane that is tricky - loose stuff. Otherwise in the area there are others - Cumberland Brook, small section of Sadlers Way and an odd bit of track here and there.0
