its been taken off  I got one reply and that was it. Admittedly the reply had most of the answers I was looking for (what moutain bike to get for when I go over the woods with my youngster) but it would have been nice to get more views.

I told them that my main cycling joy is on the roads. Perhaps that upset them

Do you think that there is a fundimental difference between roadies and mtbers?

Yes. I think Mountainbikers have more FUN. Road bikers are generally more serious about fitness.

As an ex (serious) mtb'er I can safely say that they also spend more money on things as I was always breaking stuff!!! Especially in Downhill. If it wasn't fingers/ribs/arms etc it was rear mech's/brake levers/spokes/ripped saddles!!! I think that all mtb'ers all still live with their parents cos thats the only way you can afford to do it!!!

The reason im buying a road bike is my mtb costs £100's to run through the winter mud so i will put it away and work on fitness through the winter, £20 worth of brake pads trashed in 1 muddy/wet ride is not unuaual off road in the winter.
    You just gotta peddle
