How much faster will i go if ...

I remove my mudguards ? Current weight of bike 22ilbs Mudguards sks ,current average speed 16mph type of bike sportive Hello all i am considering removing my mudguards if it means i go faster ie 0.5
1mph average Will removing the guards make a difference ;or not really and i will get SH-t all over me and my fellow cyclists ??

    Nowhere near half an mph. 0.1 maybe? 0.2 at a push?

    Is that all ??; someone mentioned that the guards act as "air suckers " and slow you down quite a lot ,but at 0.2 mph ,it aint worth it cheers for the reply

    I doubt it'll make any noticeable difference, the only reason for not having mudguards is that it looks cooler :D. I suppose you could just do it and find out.

    Took me ages to shoehorn the bug,,rs on . knowing my luck if i took them off i wouldnt get them back on as clearance is v tight

    You wouldnt notice any difference in speed. If you want to get a little bit faster - you could bung a pair of spinacis on for when you are riding on your own ? They are a bit like cut down tri bars.
