Chain Problems

Have noticed on my bike that when i take drops at speed my chain rattles about a lot and every now and then slips off completley, this may sound like a newbie question but what can i do about it? I've thought about shortening the chain but this'll possibly shorten the chain so much that i can't use the big ring.
Thanks, Yukon Lad

not much TBH it is what happens.
unless you are wanting to add stiffer springs (not easy), change gearsets."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

is there a chain guide that will still let me keep all three big rings rather than getting rid of one.

but a chain guide will not add more tension to the chain. you will still get the same slap.
some bikes are just more noisy than others.
as are some drive trains."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

ye, its just mainly just the fact that my bike has this annoying little niche between the frame and the chainset where if the chain comes off it gets stuck and takes a while to get out and it really annoying
