Avid brake lever permanently "dislocated"

You know Avid Juicy levers have that 'dislocation' function, where you can pop them away from the bars. I think I was told it was to protect them in an impact?
Anyway, my Juicy 7 has come back from Fisher with the brake fixed, but the lever still permanently "out".
So have any of you mechanics/Avid owners experienced this before? Know what the problem might be? If it's fixable?
I ask in hope rather than expectation.

That's yer problem, ask Avid ;-)
Is it a warranty job? I'd send them back if not happy.0 -
Do you mean the push rod is not plugged into the piston? If so it's sort of a 'T' connector, try rotating a little until it engages.
Anything worse than that... send it back...0 -
Brake was brought on a bike direct from Giant at trade price and LBS have already nicely sent it back to Fisher for me, I can't ask them to do it again.
Plus it's now more than a year old so out of warranty anyway, I assume.
Will be popping by LBS tomorrow so will ask mechanic to have a look as I can't suss it out.0 -
Have you tried the manual http://www.sram.com/en/service/avid/view.php?catID=1&subcatID=10

juicy 7... he said in first post :P
Ok then generic juicy 7 reply.
Pull back the rubber gaiter and make sure the tabs on the push rod are located in the worm gear coupling."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
