Safe to pull RS revelations seals away from stanchions?

You know how RS forks have a grey stanchion seal with a kind of loop spring around them? Is it safe to prise this away from the stanchion in order to drip a little lube down there? I don't want to prise them only to find they don't spring back properly. Also will Finish Line teflon chain lube be okay just for the seals? I already use it on the stanchions.
Thanks for any replies.

The grey rubber bits are actually just wipers, the seals proper are underneath them.
The answer is yes you can pry them away but be very careful not to damage them or to scratch the stanchions. A little light oil (3-in-1 or gun oil is fine) is enough just to keep the seals moist.0 -
Ta Dave. Will give it a go.0

It does actually recommend that you do this in the service manual as part of a maintenance routine. I do it about once a month if I remember....0 -
all you need to do is push down with your nail on the little lip bit above the loop spring thing.0
