Just gotten a blackspire big ring protector, I have a truvativ crankset but with a blackspire super pro outer ring. My problem is the standard chainring bolts are too short to fit through the chainrings and protector, but the longer bolts that blackspire have provided with the protector are too long?

Anyone else ever had this?

also it looks like when the protector is on its just going to connect with the derrailleur when set to the outer ring, will have a play around with that and hope that I can still get a smooth gear change after moving it in.

Anyone any clues?

Will I be ok putting a washer in beween the outer ring and the bash ring so long as I torque correctly as this should solve both problems?

Ok so putting a washer in doesn't help, think i'd need 3 washers before the bolt would be the right length. :(

Easier said than done I think. I currently have 2 different sizes neither of which fit. How do I go about buying a third size that will fit when they never state what length they are except for these which again seem too long.

Gonna have to find some time to get to the lbs I guess.

Cheers for the input, guess I was hoping for a little devine intervention.

Problem solved, finally managed to get the shop I bought them from on the phone, looks like he included the wrong bolts in the package and i'm meant to have some other bits and spacers etc.
