I know it's a little early, but whar winter SPD shoes do you reccomend. Previously I've used thicker Sealskin socks with my normal shoes, but theyre a little tight and would prefer to get some specific winter shoes.

I like the Specialized Defrosters, they aren't as warm as some, but are pretty water proof.
Shimano do some good winter boots(mt90s and mw02s), as do Diadora and Lake.
They all make you look kind of 'special', but as long as my feet are warm and dry I don't care
If you can, try them on in your local shop, wearing thick socks, as you may find you need to go a size larger than normal0 -
I use the Shimano MW02 Goretex boots. They keep my feet toasty-warm, and the neoprene ankles do an excellent job of keeping water out.
They don't look quite so good as the Defroster or the Lakes, but they do an excellent job. I saw an advert in one of the MTB Magazines selling them for £79.99 too.0 -
I have the Shimano MT90s - they're a GoreTex lined, Vibram soled imitation walking boot.
Not as good as a proper walking boot for walkingm, but much better than most cycling shoes for scrambling up muddy slopes. Good ankle protection too.
I'd buy them again.0 -

Another vote here for the MW02s. They keep your feet pretty dry and warm (unless the water goes over ankle level) and even if water does get in it soon warms up unlike normal trail shoes. They're not too heavy either. Apart from a brief stint earlier in the year when I swopped to my summer shoes I've been wearing them continuously as I don't find them too hot in the current conditions, wore them around Afan all last week.
Also find them Ok to walk in.It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.
I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result0
