At the moment I ride a MTB which I love riding but it can be a pain getting around and I wouldn't mind starting road biking. I am 15 by the way.
What is the best training to do?
Two big rides a week
or
Five smaller rides a week

And

During the rides shall I?
Do one long circuit
or
Several repeats of a smaller circuit

Any help appreciated :)

Probably a mix of both, 1 or 2 long rides a week, with some shorter (but faster) rides too.

And it doesn't matter about what circuits you do.

what do you hope to achieve?

Is this for fitness/fun or both?

I started by finding a route that I enjoyed. I set a distance that I thought was going to be challenging and slowly I am adding more distance to it every couple of weeks as my times drop. Make sure it is a nice varied route with flats, drops and climbs to get the best out of it.
17 Stone down to 12.5 now raring to get back on the bike!
  • I want to do it for both fun and fitness
I hope to achieve a good strength in road riding
