We're off to ride from Newcastle to Edinburgh in a few weeks, and I've been studying the GPX track at Bikely.com - just wanted a bit of help with the section by Druridge Bay - it looks from the map as though there's a track there - but as some people will be on 23mm tyres I wondered if anyone knew how rough it is?

Having just typed a long and detailed post about the area only to have it fail to post, I'll just say it's ok there may be small sections where you have to walk due to sand on the path but the worst you should expect is a hard core carpark type paving.

It's perfectly rideable. I did it three weeks ago.
