A thought re forum threads

I'm sure that every user on here has been browsing one forum or another, finding a really useful thread - only to go back a couple of weeks later and be unable to find it. search functions are all well and good, but there are often so many similarly-named threads that it can be impossible to locate a thread once it's dropped off the first few index pages.
So (and i'm not sure how technically complex this is) would it be possible for users to 'save' useful threads in their profiles? So, for example, i see a thread about gearing, and know i'll be buggering about during the week. I click a 'save thread to profile' link, and the thread is saved to a 'my saved threads' section of my profile. Then, i just need to go to my profile browse the threads i've saved and find the one i want.
Is this a feasible suggestion? Am i even making sense?

It's already available with the software the forum uses. A simple press of 2 keys together will save the thread. 'CTRL + D' and the thread is aved on your PC.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

As a bookmark, yeah - but i don't necessarily access from the same computer (work vs home). I suppose i could always resort to del.icio.us *smacks head*
just thought it might be a useful function to have inhouse - it also means the web team can monitor it to see what people are finding most useful for future editorial...point your handlebars towards the heavens and sweat like you're in hell0
