i'm really looking for a waterproof shoe for touring in summer, using toeclips not cleats, but mtb shoes seem to be the only ones i can find. i toured for 5 days in persistent daily rain; shoes soaked from day 1, they never dried out, were revolting to wear and smelt equally revolting when i got back home.
can anyone suggest a summer goretex lined shoe which is suitable for warm and wet cycling?

  • I can't actually recommend these for cycling as I only ever cycle in cycling shoes but I wear these when out on light weight walking adventures around the wet but beautiful west coast of Scotland in the summer. They are very light weight and fit the foot snuggly so should be able to be used with toe clips.
