Hi,
Please help! I'm trying to remove my Shimano M520 SPD pedals from a Shimano M532 chainset/crank. When i installed them on my old suntour crank i just threaded them on no porblems. Since then a shop upgraded my chainset to the shimano M532 now there seems to be an allen key bolt the other side of where the pedal threads on (hope this is making sense). So my question is do i need to loosen/remove the alan key bolt then use the 15 wrench to remove the pedal? My old crank arm did not have this 'extra' bolt.
Thanks

Its part of the the same fitment, just an extra way of taking them off. Use either the allen key fitting or 15mm flats to remove.0

Thanks supersonic, so just to be sure, i can either do the allen key or the 15mm i dont have to do both? Have the shop put this allen key bolt in then,? because im sure it wasnt there on the old crank? Or it could be me being dumb.....0

Here is a pic:
The bit of the crank is hollow, so what you are seeing is the end of the threaded bit, that rather than being flat has an allen key bolt. It is part of the same axle, so turning it will do the same as turning the 15mm flats.0 -
Oh, ok i with you now, Thanks !0

Just remember to turn them the right way ;-)0
