Hi Folks
Ive just changed from a 22 inch Trek To a 25 inch globe sport and i can not get the seat in the right position i wondering if maybe the saddle dosent suit my backside, im 6 ft 3 in
tall and at 17 stone i use a suspension seatpoast, and i commute to work every day (6 miles there and 6 miles back.
The height ive got it set at is correct as stated.
can any one recommend a commfy saddle for the larger person

  • Well, if you keep commuting and perhaps throw in a few other rides you won't be a "larger" person for much longer.

As for saddles, it's a highly personal thing but Brookes is the way I choose to go. B17 is good, Team Pro is better and the Swallow is what I have on my road bike.

It should be easy to adjust , do you mean you can't position it the correct distance from the bars, or you cant get the saddle level. ?

  • Hi Andy
the differance between the reach of the two bikes is causing me to lean forward more
and i feel the seat has to be further back to get any speed in turn makes me hunched over does that make any sense.

The globe sport has got flat bars ( I assume ) , I've got a TREK 7.3 fx , I fitted Specialized bar ends ( £15 ) from Evans and it's enabled me to get the perfect riding position .

You can adjust the bar ends to the exact and optimum riding position, I can't recommend them highly enough.

You could mess around with your seat and bars , ... but bar ends are a great cure all.
