I think the term you're looking for is "track cycling"

Delayed by two hours because of extra time in the World Carrom Championships. That was actually shown on ES2 this morning. It was fascinating.

Really though, the Eneco Tour is not that bad. Where else can you watch 200 riders being led off the course and ending up 15km from the actual route? Great stuff.

I think you'll find it on Eurosport 2 in the afternoon for a couple of hours. :)

You mean to say Iainf72 you didn't enjoy the team sprint today? What kind of cycle competitions - don't like track racing don't like stage races - do you like Iainf72? Have you ever competed? You can ride a bike can't you? You're not one of these so called 'trolls' are you?

I love stage races but I will call them boring when they are (IMO)

I don't like track cycling and think it's boring. But that's just my opinion. Your mileage may vary - I've tried to like it but it doesn't work for me.

I can ride a bike but I didn't realise that you needed to be able to do that in order to follow the sport? I don't compete but I think I've got a pretty good idea about bike racing - Well, I like to think so - The rest of you might think I'm a moron who knows nothing.

Didn't realise you needed to be an active cyclist to watch it on telly. That'll be me off, then...

Me too! How many fans at football, cricket etc play? We used to go to cricket matches and there were loads there that obviously didn't play but were still knowledgeable.

Folks - I gave it another go today and watched some of the track stuff in Eurosport HD. I'm afraid I'm still a lost cause - I don't get it and can't get into it. But that's just me,

Shocked to see many empty seats in the velodrome though. You'd think they'd fill the venue?
