Hi,

does anyone know the URL for the Altura website or have a contact for them direct? I've got a problem with my Night Vision jacket (one of the sleeve tabs has delaminated) and need to give them a shout - I should say that this jacket is a fantastic piece of kit and I'm confident that the problem is a one-off that I'm hoping Altura will be to sort out.

Cheers, Mombee.

you need to contact the supplying shop as all warranty issues are with the seller.

    Hi,

I wanted to check the warranty as it's more than a year old (bought June 2007)... and I suspect that any warranty is likely to be just one year. But it seems like an usual problem with a part of the jacket that doesn't get affected by normal wear and tear, so am hoping that Altura might be able to help before I resort to the tin of contact adhesive :-)

    Cheers, Mombee.

    Hi,

Zyro don't supply any contact details on their site... which I always find a tad amateur for any company doing business online.

I thought Altura was a UK based company - do you know anything about their company structure??

    Cheers, Mombee.

  • Was there any luck with this thread? I have been trying to contact them with some product feedback but can't find their details.

(for interest, their small overshoes are designed in such a way that the underfoot straps interfere with the cleats on size 5 specialized mtb shoes - which is surely the most common shoe around and they should probably design to accomodate)

    Hi,

no joy at all... Zyco seem completely invisible... so I resorted to some UHU glue and some pegs to glue the offending tag together. That's worked, but I have to say that my Night Vision has suddenly started to show it's age in quite a short period. I'd be interested to know what other people think of their jackets after a year or so of ownership.

Good luck getting in touch with Altura,

    Cheers, Mombee.

Have owned an Altura night vision jacket for about 18 months; use it for commuting in only throughout the winter months. Purchased it because of the Hi vis yellow is so bright . How breathable it is I am not sure with the Altec fabric as I do find it gets hot in there if you use it now it has got warmer.

The quality is average, the reflective stripes on it started falling off after about 6 months and the one pocket the zip sticks and I don’t think it will last another winter.
The thing I never liked on it was the collar was big enough for an elephant and with the draw cords pulled up it made it stiff and rubbed making you look like you had shaved with an axe. I leave the collar open and use a buff which works well.

I would put it in the category of breathable jacket rather than breathable fabric and now they have come down in price (£39 in Evans) probably a good purchase now. I have better designed better quality cycle jackets that I paid about the same price for.

Mombee you did not try that hard.

    Zyro

Thirsk Industrial Park, York Rd, Thirsk, North Yorkshire YO7 3BX
    Tel: 01845 521700

and Zyro do not trade on the internet, they only wholesale. you can not buy on the web site hence no contact info.
Also any warrenty or return problems are with the point of sale NOT the distributor.

So really you have no need to contact them

    Dear Nick,

Point of sale was Wiggle (let's not get into a discussion about returns to mailorder companies)... the jacket started to fail just after a year of ownership, hence my initial query about warranty and the failure being unusual... and, given the promotion that Altura gets in the press, I was suprised to find them fairly inaccessible when it came to a conversation about one of their 'flagship' items. Back in August, I seem to recall that there were no contact details on the Zyro site.

Any business with as high a profile as Altura should be more accessible and, in my humble opinion, should have a good web presence (contact details, information, customer support, etc). If they're confused about what that means to a customer then they need to go and visit Patagonia (the company)... this year will be the year that some companies succumb to not understanding customers. I don't imagine that Altura will be greatly impacted and they do make a good product, but they need to be accessible to customers.

    Regards, M.
