Hi all, just after a bit of guidance,
I'm quite keen on upgrading the size of my discs on my 08 rockhopper comp, i'm thinking 203 at the front if poss and 180 or again 203 at the rear, can i do this with the Rockshox Recon fork with an adaptor kit and the same on the mounts on the rear?
If so , what parts do i need?
Thanks in advance

Do you really need that size on an XC bike?! The fork will take it, but seems overkill to me.

Taylor01, what do you weigh? I'm a burly rider (16.5st) and found the standard 160mm rotor on my Rockhopper Pro was not stopping me well enough.
I upgraded it to a 185mm and its more than adequate. I've left the rear rotor at 160mm, as any larger and you'll find it locks up easier.

Yeah 180mm/160mm is all you'll want.

I'm not exactly heavy but i just want more stopping power, and i figured the cheapest way around it would be to fit bigger rotors and better pads, so which adaptor kit would you say i need if i wanted to fit A)a 180mm rotor on the front
B)a 203(maybe overkill but i'd like the option)
Ive been on CRC and there are loads of different kits, The fork is a Recon if that helps
    Cheers fellas

You'll need a front IS to Post mount (185mm or 203mm) and the rotor of the same size
