i think i already know the answer to this but i will ask anyway.

I have an old Mavic wheel set up of a 3G trispoke and a Mavic Comete discwheel. I used to use this set up until i stopped time trialling 8 years ago!

I want to still use them and i can obviously use the 3G as a front wheel as well as a rear wheel, but with things having moved on ALOT, is there anything that i can buy or do (short of buying a new disc with a cassette hub body) which will render them compatible with any of todays 9 or 10 speed set ups?

Does anybody make a 9 or 10 speed freewheel? Any help or advice appreciated.

I don't think so, but you could make a wicked ss/fg wheelset.

If not how much would you want for them?

Your only option might be to see if you can find someone who could make a custom freewheel with the right thickness of sprockets and spacers - you won't have as many gears, but at least the indexing would be OK. Marchisio comes to mind or talk to Highpath Engineering
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
  • You can buy 8 speed freewheels which are index compatible.

So according to this website http://www.ctc.org.uk/DesktopDefault.aspx?TabID=3946
you could use either a Shimano rear mech with Campag 10 sp levers., or a hubbubed Shimano rear mech with Campag 9sp levers.
I've just re-checked, and actually there are other combinations of lever/rear mech which will work.
Spa cycles stock 8 sp freewheels.

    Does this help?

    Rich.
