Oympic cycling strip

I wonder who came up with the totally boring cycling strip for the Olympics. Considering the wonderful patterns that are possible with modern fabric printing techniques the tops worn by the road race competitors is awful. I suppose the strip worn at the Track World's isn't allowed because the whole of GBR Olympic squad in all sports is expected to wear coordinated gear.
I'm an old fogy and I think the stuff looks awful so what must the youngsters think? I can't see a queue forming to buy replica gear once 5 ring circus folds up its tent to trek to London.

Old cyclists never die; they just fit smaller chainrings ... and pedal faster

I was just thinking the same thing, the road kits are very very dull. Even the yanks, i would have thought they would have come up with some in your face blingy stars & stripes kit.0 -
Noticed this in swimming (same kit, like you say), all the other nations come out in flashy tracksuits with fancy emblems on, team GB members come out in awful shellsuits that look 20 years out of date. Hope it's sorted for 2012 at least.0

Who cares so long as they win?
I also can't understand wanting to buy an olympic strip. Where would you wear it?0 -

The same place people wear any replica kit?
At least its showing a bit of national pride, unlike wearing, CSC, CA, Liquigas etc0 -
I think its quite classy and understated. The kit is across the whole GB squad for all sports isnt it, so I guess you cant have anything too crazy.
Bloody hell- what are we talking about - a Gold and a Silver out of 4 races, and we're talking like we're Trinny and Suzannah !0 -
Some of the t-shirts etc.... have this logo on would've been nice to have something like that on all kit.
I've not got a problem with our kit, I just had a hell of a problem identifying us over anyone other country when there are any more than a few people in an event.
I'm not sure the GB cycling kit (Adidas Union flag style design) is current, I managed to pick up a jersey for peanuts in a cycling shop in France a couple of weeks ago. So it's probably being replaced at some point.0 -

yes, I got it for €25. Strange that I've never seen it for sale in the UK yet I found it in France!!
Try e-mailling Adidas as they make the kit. I bought a large as it was the only size left (and the size I normally buy), and for a cycling jersey it's actually a bit big for me.
Just found the online shop of the company I bought it from

While I was out there I also saw these guys selling it (but xxlarge) http://www.sport2000.fr/fr/0 -

Very true understated is far better than chav bling
