Fixed/Single Speed Gearing

Hi, I've just picked up my new Charge Plug Racer for my daily race into to work.
Does anyone know where I can find (London lbs or online) a 48T Sugino Messenger chainring? I'm looking to change out the existing 42T ring to up the gearing, and my searches so far online haven't turned up much.
Or alternatively will any other 5 bolt chainring be compatible with the existing Messenger crankset that I have? Or should I just slap a tiny freewheel on the back (which I thought were pretty hard to come by smaller than 16T)?
Cheers

Condor or Brick Lane Bikes will sort you out in London. For compatibility for rings you need to check the BCD (bolt circle diameter), likely to be 130mm for a track c/set but as usual Sheldon is your friend

130mm is easy to come by in 48. try to go for a single speed specific ring that doesn't have shifting ramps & pins. Always better to get a larger ring as opposed to a smaller sprocket as more teeth = less chain wearroad0 -
Hey, thanks for your suggestions. Very helpful indeed.
I'll try and get over to Brick Lane Bikes.FCN 7 (according to calculator)

If you want online then I've founf SJS cycles to be very good chainrings. They're in Somerset and I ride past them on the way to work but they do mail order too.0
